Put your whole heart in the work you do

The world, where we are living is now drastically changing. I, remember my childhood days. When my father, used to give a certain work, to the worker; he would do the work neatly accurately, and sincerely, within the given time period. But, now a days it’s not like that, people just do the work, for the sake of doing. It, happened a few days ahead, that we were in desperate need of a plumber. Our pipe for the washing machine had got jammed, water was not draining properly through the pipes.
We waited for plumber a few days and finally, found the person who said, he knows to solve all the plumbing problem; he did the work haphazardly, took the said amount of money and told “the work is done”. But the problem arose again the next day. We, had to trace another plumber for the same work again. That time, I  thought how nowadays the people have become money lovers working only for money, not sincerely just to get some money in pocket and not doing the work whole heartedly. We, traced another plumber who worked very well’, neatly and did the work accurately, in the given span of time. The quality of work is the thing which matters. Even if you give a glass of water to someone the attitude and the heart is seen by God, and He will reward it accordingly. The bible verse fits so, appropriately to this situation Col 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.
Work is essential for living and obtaining the essentials for life. The creator has designed each one of us to work, so we should accept our work as God’s divine design. On my way back, I saw a
small street vendor making eatables in the hot climate. He appeared satisfied and happy. Some people think, that they would be successful when they please other people. But our main service should be for God. When we do a work, we should do as, we do for God and not for men. Focus on the work assigned. Do it diligently and wholeheartedly. We should please God rather than man. Even, we see in scriptures God, tells us that when we give to the poor, we should not sound trumpet. Our works, should be acceptable to God. Life that pleases God bears fruit and rewards.

Dwelling in His shelter

Dwelling place, is a place where a living thing lives or dwells, or has his accommodation. This place is not just used for few minutes or hours, but this dwelling place gives shelter, it’s a refuge in times of trouble. This dwelling place is a protection to us in which we can trust.
I, have a brilliant, soft hearted, nature loving friend. She likes nature specially all types of animals, fishes, birds. She has many pets in her house; a squirrel, a dog, a cat, and fishes. All the abandoned or left alone, animals accidently comes to her, for protection. And she is the one who rescues them and takes care of them.

Last morning, same thing happened, while she was strolling in her garden, a bird fell down from it’s nest. She brought that bird in her house. Fed water and grain, kept it safe, cozy and in warmth. We, identified the bird to be rufous treepie, a member of crow family with long tail, which is found in forest as well as urban gardens. The baby bird, might have fallen down from the nest or strong winds. Poor thing, now alone with no protection and no dwelling place. The verse from the bible stands so true, Ps 91: 1,2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. Like that poor birdie who has no security now, no body to trust on, terror might have gripped it often but; the psalmist says God will be our dwelling place. He will cover us when terror grips or you feel insecure. He will keep you safe from all the deadly pestilence which comes along your way. But, you have to keep in mind one thing that your dwelling should be in God’s shelter. Some, people dwell in worldly matters and get entangled with problems of world, disaster happening, bombardments happening, the calamities happening and; live their lives with anxieties and worries. But Isaiah say fear not, for I am with thee. He says in Isaiah 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. When your life is full of stormy waves, seek shelter in Lord. He, will cover you and protect you so, that you may not get wet in the rain or drown in the stormy waves. The thing is you have to continue to dwell in God’s shelter.  At that moment, all your fear will vanish as you can overcome all things for, He will give you strength, just take shelter under His wings and dwell in Him.
Friends, God wants us to dwell in His shelter. Take refuge under His wings. He will protect you from the snares of this world. Hope this blog will encourage you and remove all the fears as God is the dwelling place for you. Please share comment and be encouraged. God bless you.

Take-Off

Last week, I was travelling to my sister’s place, in an aero plane. I was, very happy and excited, to meet everyone and to travel in plane. I checked in, got my boarding pass, happily I went to the waiting room and just waited for the time of the flight to be boarded. Looking around, enthusiastically to the surroundings, noticing kids playing around, mothers chatting, fathers busy with their mobiles, everyone in happy moods just passing of their time and waiting for the announcement to board the flight. But the time passed and still no announcement. Alas! Everyone was frustrated to wait, for an extra hour apart from what was written in the ticket. Then, suddenly an announcement for boarding was done which gave a push up for the waiting passengers. After entry, I met pleasant crew members with smiling faces. All were seated on the flight, and air hostess checked everyone’s seat. Now again waiting for another announcement of take-off. “What’s this?
the announcement of take-off is getting delayed”, some of the passengers started shouting in anger. The tired and angry passengers got a relief when the pilot announced of final “Take off”. I was, seated with my seat belt, when  the announcement was made, my ears, heard the word “take-off” only which jerked my whole body, as if a voice from holy spirit is announcing, a verse from the scripture of Eph 4:22,23 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by it’s deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; “Put off” or “take off” means to remove the old self and put on the new human in you.
Like, some of the reptiles get rid of, or shed away their old skin. Have you, ever seen a snake removing its old skin and putting on the new skin? It, goes to a remote place takes time rubs, of its old
skin against a hard object, and then the news skin is present; just underneath the old one. If, you ever go to a garment store, to buy a new dress won’t you go to the changing room, remove the old one and wear on the new one, to check whether the new dress is fitting correctly, in the same way God wants us to put off our old behaviour, meditate and get to know what is wrong or false behaviours in you like having jealousy, negativism, anger, saying lies, stealing, evil speaking. And He wants us to put on new clothes of love, tender heart, compassion, forgiveness, kindness, spirit of joy, peace.
Let’s try living a fruitful and prosperous life, by removing your old attitude, and adapting to some new way of living. “God has fashioned our life to renew it from inside, according to His pattern and desires. Let Him work on you, and produce His characters in you.

Extraordinary

This morning, I wanted to draw a picture so, I took a pencil lying in the pen stand, took it in my hand and I started to draw, and it came out to be a nice one; though I am not good in drawing nor am I an artist, but really the picture made came out to be beautiful. An ordinary pencil if its in the hands of an artist it can do wonders. My, morning meditation verse popped up in my mind. “O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” Is 25:1 (KJV) in another version I saw, for you have done “extraordinary” things. Thus, our God does amazing and wonderful things in your lives. Trials and tribulations will be present in everyone’s life. Our lives may not be always milk and honey. Roads, you travel may be rough and narrow, don’t lose heart thinking you are in the wrong road, once you have given the problem in His hands, wait for Him.

God, uses ordinary things like ordinary stones, ordinary fishes, ordinary water, ordinary stick, ordinary donkey all were just simple and ordinary things and commodities; but when they reached in God’s mighty hand they were used as extraordinary thing which did wonders. God had a special purpose and plan with them. You may be thinking that you don’t have the ability, no degree, nothing to be called “extraordinary” within you. Whatever talent whether great or small you have just use it for His glory. Remember, it is not the most capable who are blessed by God always but even an ordinary person who is close to God will be blessed. God, uses ordinary people in “extraordinary” ways as a testimony for His grace and glory. I can tell about myself that I am not at all worthy of anything but it is God who uses me and what I am today is all His grace towards me. When, I look back there are M.S patients who have many problems; but I thank my God that these 17 years he kept me safe under His wings. Once, we consider ourselves as unworthy and as a complete zero that is the time, He will use you and His power will fill in us to do extraordinary things. As it’s written in 2 cor 4:7 “Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us.”

Friends, God wants us to give your lives in His hands and He will make an ordinary you to be “extraordinary you” once you completely submit to Him. Hope this blog will enlighten your thoughts regarding your life. Please share comment and be encouraged. God bless you.

Remain in...

My, sister’s house, has a small garden, with different flowers and plants in it. I, usually am crazy with nature, so in the evening when I, was admiring the beauty of nature around I, saw the mango tree which was laden, with mangoes. The verse, which enlightened, me on seeing, them was; John 15:4 “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.” How true, God wants to tell us, to remain in Him. When, a branch is attached to a tree, then the life juices of nature flows through the tree, to the branch and tendril and leaf to produce flowers, and fruit. You, are the branches. God, is the vinedresser, the owner, the creator, the maker; and thus, it’s difficult for us to thrive alone. It, is difficult for a stem or a branch to live without a tree. God takes, care of us like a gardener cares his garden. The Father, works in us to bear fruits. Without, remaining in Him, you cannot bear fruit. Absolutely nothing, and you will be useless.  Without, having an intimate relationship with God, you can do nothing.
Take an example of a CPU, the brain of a computer which manages all calculations, instructions, operations and other stuffs. The result, of all these calculations and instructions can be seen, in a monitor connected to it. A relation, is required between the monitor and CPU. If the relation, is not close or broken, the end result or the fruit of the labor cannot be seen. The CPU, is the master in the same way we need to have an intimate relationship with God our Master. Actually, you should also have that quality to get along with our Master. We have to depend on our Master, and be in union with Him. You can remain in Him by being in relationship to Him and bear much fruits for Him. Reading the bible, praying, doing good works, meditating, following His will, hearing His voice, experiencing His presence. Being fruitful to God, as He has a purpose in your lives to be fulfilled.
Remain in the environment

Rock of Ages

Today morning, away from the noises of the busy street, we thought of going to a beach. The, calmness of the sea, and the beautiful scenery, brought a new enthusiasm in my life. In the sea, I, saw a very large rock, amazing and awesome; the waves touched the rocks, as if they were hugging each other in each visit, when the verse in the scriptures just popped in my mind, Isaiah 26:4- "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. “An everlasting rock”, when we think, of rock all the qualities, of God come to our mind; strong, trustworthy, reliable. My, imagination soon ran to a picture; which I took yesterday, of a pigeon from my roof top, as if; the pigeon was searching for a hiding place; I remembered the verse, in bible  Jer 48:28 "O ye inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that maketh her nest over the mouth of the cave." The pigeon, makes it’s nest on a strong foundation on a rock. These pigeons do not like, to dwell in towns or cities but they being shy, and timid like to dwell in rock.

When, you make your dwelling on a rock, which depicts a firm foundation on our God who is trustworthy; rock of refuge. At times, when you feel insecure, this rock becomes your hiding place, which gives you security from all troubles. See, how wonderfully God speaks to us, as written in scriptures of Psalm 94:22- But the LORD has been my stronghold, And my God the rock of my refuge. David put his stronghold on God so, whenever he was attacked by Saul, he used to run to caves, or rocky crevices thus; in many of his psalms he declares in Ps: 62:2 “Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. God, has been an Eternal Rock of deliverer, a strength, a shield, a salvation, a defense, a protection not today or yesterday but; since ages and ages. I, set my music system to hear, the beautiful song of 1980, and I was just lost in the beautiful song:
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Truly, He is my rock, in any overwhelming situations, I can hide in my rock of refuge who is my deliverer.

Happiness

Have, you ever thought, from where does this happiness, comes from and how does it come?
Happiness, is an emotion a feeling, in which one experiences contentment, gratitude, fulfillment or satisfaction in one’s life. Happiness, is the gift from God. Last month, we marked the International Day of Happiness, which was celebrated on 20th March. The day, is kept as an occasion, to recognize the importance of happiness, in the lives of people, around us.
I read, a story in Reader’s Digest lately, It’s, an old folk tale of a king, who ordered a hunt for the shirt of the happiest man in his kingdom. But, when the king found out the man, in fact he had; no shirt. It is, not the circumstances which make us happy, but, managing or tackling the circumstances; by grace, and power of God that is going to bring happiness in our lives. Once, we delight in God, for sure we will be filled with Happiness.
The scriptures, also tell us in so many places to remain happy, as in Prov 17:22 it says A cheerful heart is a good medicine.
Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
The day before, my sister, sent beautiful pictures of trees and flowers, of the country where she is staying now. I got, very happy on seeing the beautiful pictures. Even, though the picture gave me momentary happiness, but a dozen endorphins were released in my brain; which helped me in fighting my disease and released healing powers.  God, has made this earth for us to enjoy and remain happy. Whereas, nowadays people have lost interest, to look around the beauty of the nature. We, should live a free life as that of a butterfly, a bird or an animal of the jungle. I think, they are much, much happy then us. People nowadays, are just slaves to selfishness, jealousy, ego, greediness, hatred, hurting others; thereby, the happiness, peace, love; have started been depleting, from their lives.  Once we, give happiness to others, our life too will be filled with immense happiness. Even in our life we may experience ups and down but if there is self-pleasure in you then happiness is sure which will bring inner joy in you.

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.” -Charles Spurgeon
“Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present”. Jim Rohn
“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” - Dalai Lama XIV
I’m just writing a blog post, for your encouragement so as to have
happiness in you. If, you know this article would help someone or encourage them, please do share with them. I’d also love to hear from you. Please do leave a comment.

Useful in Master's Hand

I, saw my sister this, morning cluttering with all the vessels from the cutlery shelf. She has, a wide range of selections. Some, vessels are of plastic, some of clay, some of copper, some wood, some melamine, some steel, some glass, and so on. When, I asked her, “What are you going to do with all of them today”? She, told,” I am going to wash, clean and put them in order, as they have to be used, for the evening party” The vessels kept in the cutlery shelf have different uses; some to be used for special purpose, like the silver spoon for the baby, coming, who is just 6-month-old to eat her porridge. Some steel glasses, for drinking water, some juice glass for drinking juices, some utensil made of wood or bamboo having common use; so, as to throw the waste, of chicken bones or fishbones during meals. After, helping my sister with cleaning, I, came to my room and; recalled all that happened. God, opened my insight, to the verse in the scriptures; the verse in 2 Timothy 2: 20,21 “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work”.
Sometimes, you may think, God only uses those who have gifts and abilities, but it’s not so, God just waits for you and watches if you give yourselves to Him. You have a choice to be a vessel fit for God’s use. It, is in our hand and the choice is purely your, whether you want to be used for honoring your master by being a silver spoon, or be a common waste dish which get broken and are replaced. If, you have lower qualities in life, then you will be a vessel used for lower activities. If you have higher qualities then you will be used for honorable purpose. One thing is here, both the vessel is used for God. If, you want God to use you, then you should be clean. We may have some; negative quality like, that of wood or clay or stone but; you can make it pure and clean by cleaning yourself from sin and fleeing yourselves from sin and, from worldly nature; of complaints, gossip, anger, hatred, jealousy. Instead, try to fill your life with good attitude, good behaviour, faith, love, godliness, self-control, peace. Try to be a vessel, in Master’s hand clean and ready for great and wonderous things.

I’m just writing a blog post, for your encouragement. If you know this article would help someone or encourage them, please do share with them. I’d also love to hear from you. Please do leave a comment.
